Gulf South said Monday it was beginning unscheduled maintenance on the Bistineau Compressor Station’s Unit # 1 that is expected to last about five days. Capacity at the pipeline’s Bistineau storage facility in North Louisiana could be affected by as much as 75 MMcf/d on injection and 125 MMcf/d on withdrawal.

Transportation Notes

CIG declared force majeure due to unscheduled maintenance at Muddy Gap Compressor Station and reduced available capacity on its Wind River Lateral in central Wyoming to 225 MMcf/d Thursday until further notice. The duration of the Muddy Gap work is unknown but is anticipated to continue through Jan. 3, CIG said.

Transportation Notes

Sonat experienced an unscheduled outage on the 14-inch Logansport Line in northwestern Louisiana. Effective Wednesday until further notice, it is unable to accept nominations for the J. W. Gathering receipt point. Sonat said Wednesday it is still evaluating repairs for the Bayou Postillion Line (see Daily GPI, Feb. 13).

Sonat reported experiencing an unscheduled outage Monday on the 10-inch Bayou Postillion Line in Louisiana. Repairs required that it isolate and blow down the affected section. Sonat declared a force majeure and OFO Type 1 in association with the event. Effective with Tuesday’s evening cycle and until further notice, it is unable to schedule gas from the Bayou Postillion #2-Anson #2 receipt point.

Sonat declared force majeure Wednesday after experiencing an unscheduled outage of the 12-inch Breton Sound Line offshore southeastern Louisiana. In order to make repairs, Sonat found it necessary to isolate and blow down about 15 miles of pipe. Gas was not being scheduled for Thursday’s gas day on the timely, evening and intraday 1 cycles from the Breton Sound 11, 18/19, 21, 32 and 36 receipt points. However, repairs were being completed Thursday afternoon, and Sonat canceled the force majeure and said it would begin accepting nominations at the five points again effective with the intraday 2 cycle for Thursday and the evening cycle for today.

Sonat reported experiencing an unscheduled outage Tuesday on its 10-inch La Rose Field Line in St. Martin Parish, LA. The pipeline declared force majeure and said no nominations will be scheduled until further notice at the La Rose Field Receiving Station. Only one producer with an “insignificant” amount of production was affected, a spokeswoman said.

The #3 compressor at Roswell (NM) Station has been taken down for unscheduled maintenance through next Thursday, El Paso said. The action reduced San Juan Crossover capacity by 30 MMcf/d, effective with Cycle 3 nominations Friday.

Gulf South said unscheduled maintenance that began Monday on unit #3 at Bistineau (LA) Station, originally expected to be wrapped up Wednesday afternoon, has been extended through Friday. The work is reducing injection capacity at the pipeline’s Bistineau Storage Facility by 75 MMcf/d.
