Transportation Notes

Sonat will declare force majeures in conjunction with shut-in tests scheduled at its two storage fields during April. Firm storage (CSS) customers will be allocated to 36% of their currently effective Daily Injection Quantity (DIQ) and Daily Withdrawal Quantity (DWQ) during April 1-7 work at the Muldon facility in Mississippi and to 64% of DIQ/DWQ during April 8-21 work at the Bear Creek facility in North Louisiana. These reduced levels of DIQ and DWQ are subject to change, if necessary.

Citing forecasted weather and projected demand on its system, Sonat said eight delivery groups would become subject to an OFO Type 3 effective with the start of Saturday’s gas day until further notice. OFO penalties are $15/Dth for any delivery point overtakes exceeding 102% of a shipper’s daily entitlement. The pipeline also began allocating/limiting interruptible capacity in four other groups Saturday.

Transportation Notes

Based on the weather forecast and projected demand, Sonat is subjecting eight groups on its system to an OFO Type 3 Thursday until further notice. The OFO carries penalties of $15/Dth for excessive negative imbalances. These groups are affected: Birmingham Group, South Main Zone 2, Atlanta Group, South Main Zone 3, East of Wrens, South Georgia-Lee County, Brunswick Line and Savannah Line.

Great Lakes, Sonat, Dominion Top Customer Satisfaction Ranking

Great Lakes Gas Transmission, Southern Natural Gas and Dominion Transmission were the top three large pipelines, in that order, in Mastio & Co.’s sixth customer satisfaction ranking of the pipeline industry. The ranking was based on nearly 1,500 interviews with industrials, LDCs, electric generation companies, independent power producers, producers and marketers.

Sonat implemented an OFO Type 3 for eight market-area groups Monday morning. Penalties of $15/Dth were being assessed on any shipper whose delivery point takes exceeded 102% of their daily entitlement. The pipeline also began limiting IT service for four other groups.
