MRT said it would end Tuesday the System Protection Warning it had implemented on Thanksgiving Day.

MRT said it will implement a System Protection Warning (SPW) effective at the start of the Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) gas day until further notice. It includes restrictions against the creation of daily long imbalances and make-up of short due-pipe positions. See the bulletin board for details.

Pacific Gas and Electric did not extend a systemwide Stage 2 low-inventory OFO on its California Gas Transmission system beyond Thursday.

Tennessee ended Monday a systemwide Imbalance Warning but asked that shippers continue to match physical flow with scheduled quantities.

MRT had scheduled a System Protection Warning (SPW) through Tuesday when it was announced that the SPW would begin last Friday (see Daily GPI, July 2). However, MRT said it was lifting the SPW effective with the start of Monday’s gas day.

BG Group plc has fired another warning shot at its North American competition after exercising an option to acquire a bigger stake in a prospective natural gas development offshore Trinidad. BG’s offer preempts a $142.5 million cash offer by Centrica plc.

MRT declared a System Protection Warning to be effective from Friday through Tuesday, saying it will not schedule any volumes that result in a daily long imbalance position and will not accept any nominations for makeup of short imbalances during that period.
