MRT added a couple of clarifications to its announcement of a System Protection Warning for Friday through Tuesday; see the bulletin board for details.

Mechanical issues at the Douglas County, IL, receipt interconnect with Trunkline (see Daily GPI, July 2) have been resolved and full point capacity of 175,000 Dth/d became available Thursday, Rockies Express (REX) and Trunkline said. A limit of 40,000 Dth/d at the REX-East interconnect with Panhandle Eastern in Putnam County, IN, was raised to 100,000 Dth/d Thursday; when fully operational, the Panhandle Eastern link also will have 175,000 Dth/d of capacity.

A Tuesday morning valve malfunction at the Toca processing plant operated by Enterprise Operating Partners in southeast Louisiana (see Daily GPI, July 2) was repaired Wednesday night and the plant had resumed full operations Thursday, said Enterprise spokesman Rick Rainey. Southern Natural Gas said it did not expect any system impact from the temporary surge of gas with higher-than-normal Btu content resulting from the Toca outage.

Rockies Express (REX) said it will begin performing smart pig runs Tuesday between its Mexico and Hamilton compressor stations as stipulated by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). “This activity facilitates PHMSA’s approval allowing REX to operate at a maximum allowable operating pressure of 1,480 psig and thereby increase capacity of REX-East up to Lebanon [OH] from 1,600,000 Dth/d to 1,800,000 Dth/d,” the pipeline said. “Based on additional testing and other precautions taken during the construction process as well as frequent communication with PHMSA during the project, REX does not expect any material issues.” See the bulletin board for the pigging scheduled and anticipated capacity impacts.
