MRT said it will implement a System Protection Warning (SPW) effective at the start of the Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) gas day until further notice. It includes restrictions against the creation of daily long imbalances and make-up of short due-pipe positions. See the bulletin board for details.

Pacific Gas and Electric said due to an unplanned outage of Gerber Compressor Station’s K-1 unit, Redwood Path on its California Gas Transmission system was reduced to 1,909 MMcf/d effective with Evening cycle nominations for Tuesday’s gas day. The duration of the outage is not known at this time, the utility said.

Following further evaluation of operational concerns involved with maintenance at Elk Basin Compressor Station that began Tuesday and will continue through Friday (see Daily GPI, Nov. 17), CIG said it has changed the affected constraint point from the previously posted Big Horn North (BHN) to Elk Basin Meter (ELK). Capacity at ELK has been reduced from 105 MMcf/d to 45 MMcf/d for the duration of the work, CIG said. BHN capacity was restored to 105 MMcf/d effective with Cycle 2 nominations for Tuesday’s gas day.

Trunkline said it is not accepting nominations through Nov. 23 at the Compton Road-Kinder Morgan Louisiana Interconnect after beginning unscheduled meter maintenance there Tuesday that is expected to last for seven days.

In yet another new project aimed at serving Haynesville Shale production, TGT is holding a binding open season through Dec. 4 seeking shipper commitments to support a project installing pipeline looping and/or compression on the North Louisiana Supply Lateral between the Haughton and Sharon compressor stations. The pipeline proposes to install looping on a portion of the existing 20-inch diameter line and/or additional compression at Sharon Compressor station to create up to 165,000 MMBtu/d of additional firm service. The expanded capacity could be placed in service as early as November 2011, TGT said. Rockies Express is accepting binding bids for 35,000 Dth/d of firm capacity from Zone 1 to Zone 3 that will be provided from Dec. 1 through March 31, 2010. Two receipt points and all delivery points upstream (west) of and including the PEPL-Putman [Panhandle Eastern] interconnect will be available.
