Tennessee lifted Saturday a Critical Day 1 OFO for its farthest upstream Zone 0, and ended the same OFO for all other zones Sunday.

Tennessee will add a Critical Day 1 OFO in downstream Zones 4, 5 and 6 Saturday to the one it plans to implement Friday in upstream Zones 0, 1, L and 2 (see Daily GPI, Jan. 7). That will leave Zone 3 as the pipeline’s only segment not subject to an OFO.

Tennessee issued an OFO Action Alert, effective Tuesday for all LMS-PA, LMS-MA and LMS-PL Balancing Parties with meters in Zones 5 and 6, due to anticipated colder temperatures in its Northeast market area and in order to maintain linepack. See the bulletin board for OFO conditions.

Tennessee said Wednesday afternoon it had identified a leak on the Fidelity Line 8A-300 lateral located at Main Line Valve 8 near Victoria, TX. Two meters were required to shut in until further notice, the pipeline said. It added that shipper nominations there were allowed to remain in place for Wednesday’s gas day but must be reduced to zero effecitve with Evening Cycle nominations for Thursday.

Transportation Notes

Citing “limited operational flexibility, high storage levels and continuing mild weather,” Tennessee said a systemwide OFO Action Alert will become effective Saturday for all Balancing Parties, “including LMS-PA, SA contracts acting as balancing parties, LMS-MA and LMS-PL balancing parties.” Affected customers will be required to maintain an actual daily flow rate not exceeding 2% above scheduled quantities or 500 Dth, whichever is greater, for overdeliveries into the system and undertakes from the system. Senator Offers Republican Alternative to Cap-and-Trade System

Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, last Monday outlined a Republican response to what he calls the Democrats’ “job-killing” and expensive cap-and-trade system for controlling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Democrats’ cap-and-trade system was also critisized by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who called it a “dead end” and “an enormous threat to our economy.”
