Pennsylvania Revamps NatGas Air Permits, Proposes Enviro Controls

Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has finalized revisions to general permits for natural gas-fired engines and equipment at compressor stations, which are “75-90%” stricter than current limits for the largest, most common types of engines used at compressor stations. DEP also is suggesting revisions to one section of the air quality permit exemption list governing well drilling sites.

Due to cold weather forecasts in its service area, MRT is issuing a System Protection Warning (SPW) effective Thursday until further notice; see the bulletin board for SPW conditions. With capacity currently available on the East Line, shippers who were relying on Main Line IT and/or AOR volumes are encouraged to resource supply to the East Line or reduce applicable delivery volumes to avoid incurring an OFO.

Columbia Gas, which had allowed two Critical Days for storage to lapse Monday (see Daily GPI, Sept. 4), said a new Critical Day will be implemented Thursday; see the bulletin board for associated restrictions. Affiliate Columbia Gulf said effective with Timely cycle nominations Wednesday it was not allowing either AutoPAL (Park and Loan) service or nominations to resolve due-pipe imbalances.
