El Paso estimates one of the two compressor units at its Caprock (NM) Station will return to service by April 16, raising San Juan Crossover capacity to 600 MMcf/d from its current 580 MMcf/d. It appears the other unit will remain unavailable until mid-May, the pipeline said.

Sonat was scheduled to begin the spring shut-in test of its Muldon (MS) Storage Facility Sunday (April 4). Based on current scheduling and anticipated demand for the holiday weekend, Sonat estimated Thursday that excess supplies would surpass its available storage injection capability after the Muldon work begins. It urged shippers to have personnel available to respond Friday afternoon in case an OFO Type 6 became necessary. Sonat already implemented an OFO Type 1, effective Sunday, in conjunction with Muldon maintenance, which reduces systemwide injection capacity by 36%.
