Russia’s war in Ukraine has helped propel the next wave of U.S. LNG projects, putting the country on track to export 22.3 Bcf/d of the super-chilled fuel this decade.

Since last year, the Corpus Christ Stage 3 expansion, Plaquemines and Port Arthur liquefied natural gas projects have all been sanctioned. Along with Golden Pass LNG, the Gulf Coast projects are all under construction. They would add 8.4 Bcf/d over the next five years in addition to the 13.9 Bcf/d of U.S. LNG export capacity already in operation.

Twelve other U.S. export projects have been approved and another eight have been proposed. A handful of the new projects that have been approved are close to moving ahead after a flurry of contracting over the last year-and-a-half...
