Questar has started inventory and deliverability testing at its Clay Basin Storage facility. From April 1 through April 5 the work restricted customers to withdrawals only. A withdrawal test of up to 370,000 dekatherms was set for Tuesday. From Wednesday until April 22, the facility will be shut in for inventory verification, preventing Questar from using Clay Basin to balance receipt and delivery imbalances. Thus it stressed to customers the importance of preventing physical imbalances during that period.

Westcoast adjusted its imbalance tolerance range again Tuesday to zero pack and 20% draft in order to combat rising linepack.

Transco has scheduled smart pig operations for April 14 and May 4 on 69 miles of Main Line “A” from Compressor Station 30 near El Campo, TX to Compressor Station 35 north of Houston. A portion of the pig runs will be in a single-line section of the system. During each run Transco will limit the flow leaving Station 30 to 250,000 Dth/d. Secondary firm and interruptible service will not be available for gas received at or upstream of Station 30 for downstream delivery, and due-pipeline imbalance make-up nominations with a receipt location at or upstream of Station 30 will not be accepted. Downstream firm transportation deliveries will be kept whole for shippers choosing to do so, but Transco said it can not guarantee its ability to accommodate make-up receipt transactions for the resulting Zone 1 imbalances during the remainder of the month. Shippers that desire to have their deliveries kept whole must notify their pipeline representative no later than the close of business April 12. Shippers that are unable to limit receipts are encouraged to find alternate markets upstream of Station 30, Transco said.
