Citing “significant demand” in its Florida market area as a result of freezing temperatures, Florida Gas Transmission declared an Overage Alert Day with 5% tolerance for negative daily imbalances Thursday.

Pacific Gas & Electric issued a systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for today. Penalties of $1/Dth will apply to positive imbalances in excess of a 3% tolerance.

A System Protection Warning took effect until further notice Sunday morning on MRT and included these conditions: MRT will not schedule any mainline IT, AOR or imbalance volumes for delivery north of Glendale, AR; firm volumes are limited to their primary direction of flow; and shippers should balance deliveries north of Glendale (including the Market Zone) with receipts. MRT said capacity is available on its East Line and that in order to avoid OFOs, shippers who were relying on mainline IT, AOR and/or imbalance volumes are encouraged to either re-source supply to the East Line or reduce applicable delivery volumes.

Sonat canceled Thursday an OFO Type 3 that had been implemented Tuesday for eight market-area groups on its system.

Columbia Gas extended an open season to allow more time to assess interest in its proposed Midwest Project (see Daily GPI, Oct. 10). Originally set to close Dec. 14, the season now is set to close Jan. 31, 2002. Call Brian Fowler at (703) 227-3277 for more information.
