Southern California Gas extended Saturday’s high-linepack OFO through Sunday before allowing it to expire Monday. The giant LDC also reported beginning replacement Monday of the power head on compressor Unit #5 at its Aliso Canyon storage facility. The work is expected to end Wednesday.

Pacific Gas & Electric issued a customer-specific Stage 2 high-inventory OFO affecting 10 shippers for Saturday, then expanded it into a systemwide OFO for Sunday and Monday before ending it Tuesday.

Florida Gas Transmission ended Saturday an Overage Alert Day that had been in effect Tuesday through Friday of last week.

Effective Tuesday Northwest will reduce available capacity at the Boise (ID) Compressor Station from 499,000 Dth/d to 403,000 Dth/d due to damage discovered on Unit #2 during routine inspections during the past week. Emergency repairs are under way, Northwest said, and it expects to have the unit back in service Thursday. If primary nominations through Boise exceed 403,000 Dth/d prior to Unit #2 returning to service, Northwest said it will declare a deficiency period and cut nominations accordingly. Current net northbound nominations through the station are about 399,000 Dth/d, the pipeline added.

Southern Natural Gas canceled Friday allocations of interruptible capacity (B-1 and IT) in Group 167-Pavo to Occidental Tap, Group 168-Occidental to Florida Power and Group 169-Jacksonville Line (see Daily GPI, July 10), then reinstated them Monday until further notice.

TransCanada said Monday it is assessing projects for gas transmission pipelines and related facilities from the Horn River and Montney/Groundbirch areas of northeastern British Columbia to connect with its NOVA system in Alberta. TransCanada is holding two nonbinding open seasons through July 25 to solicit customer interest in the projects. See the bulletin board for details and open season documents, or call Dave Murray at (403) 920-2059 for more information. Drilling interest in the Horn River and Montney plays has been growing rapidly (see Daily GPI, June 17). Shell Canada is offering $5.9 billion for Western Canada acreage that includes property in the Montney tight gas trend (see related story).
