Northwest reported experiencing a failure of the Unit #4compressor at its Soda Springs (ID) Station Wednesday morning dueto damaged rings and cylinders. Cause of the damage is beinginvestigated. Northwest said it was able to maintain scheduledquantities that day, but starting today capacity through SodaSprings will be limited to 445,000 Dth/d. This will not require anycuts in Primary Firm nominations, the pipeline said. It estimatedthe compressor will be back in service March 2.

Affected customers should re-source their Main Linesupplies to the East Line or take their Main Line IT and/or AORreceipts to zero, MRT said.

Northwest lifted Tuesday an entitlement for undertakes north ofKemmerer (WY) Station that had begun a week earlier (see Daily GPI, Nov. 10). Although linepack has returned toan acceptable level, the pipeline said, Jackson Prairie storage”remains virtually full with approximately 300,000 [dekatherms] ofavailable physical capacity.” Northwest is not authorizing anyimbalance paybacks until further notice.

El Paso said Friday the White Rock (NM) Station had been takenout of service for emergency maintenance. The pipeline heldcapacity out of San Juan Basin at the Cycle 2 scheduled rate of2,685 MMcf/d Friday but lowered the volume slightly to 2,680 MMcf/dfor Saturday’s gas day.

During the Oct. 29-31 period, PG&E GT-Northwest will takethe Stanfield (OR) Meter Station out of service to completemodifications requested by Northwest Pipeline to meet expandingdemand of 130,000 Dth. Physical deliveries to Northwest will belimited to 200 MMcf/d through an emergency intertie. There will beno net physical receipts into PG&E GT-NW. Capacity allocationswill be based on service priority.
