NGPL Proposes Adding Capacity for California

Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America has proposed expanding a portion of its existing system capacity in southeastern New Mexico to increase deliveries to California. Natural wants to add new compression on a leased basis to its Indian Basin Lateral and other facilities to make deliveries of up to 42,000 Dth/d by the fourth quarter of 2001 through Transwestern Pipeline in Eddy County, NM.

Transportation Notes

Tennessee reported being notified by Dynegy Midstream Services,operator of the Yscloskey Gas Processing Plant in southeasternLouisiana, that effective April 1 the plant will no longer process”strangers” gas that does not have a contractual relationship withthe plant. In the event this action causes Tennessee to once againexperience operational difficulties attributable to gas with highBtu levels, the pipeline said, it will do whatever is necessary tolower overall Btu content on its 500 Line to manageable levels.

Florida Gas Transmission said Wednesday morning a small leak in its22-inch mainline in southeastern Texas (see Daily GPI, Oct. 4) had been repaired and the line wasback in service. The pipeline resumed accepting nominations at allpoints in Zone 1 for Wednesday’s Intraday 1 cycle.

Transportation Notes

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the 14-inch Romere Pass Line offshore southeastern Louisiana (see Daily GPI, July 7; July 18) could be back in service on or around Aug. 11, Sonat said Friday. The line ruptured July 5, causing the shut-in of up to 100 MMcf/d at five receipt points. A repair plan has been completed and submitted to regulatory authorities for approval, the pipeline said. It expects that the approvals could be completed in time for work to begin on or about Thursday of this week. July 27. The estimated repair time is 10-15 calendar days.
