Goodrich Petroleum Corp. said Thursday it plans to spend between $175 million and $200 million on capital expenditures (capex) in 2013, most of which will go toward drilling for oil in the Eagle Ford Shale and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS), but a small portion will be spent on dry gas in the Haynesville Shale.

The number of original drilling permits issued in Texas during November declined from one year ago, as did the amount of natural gas produced from Texas wells during October compared to a year ago, according to Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) figures.

ZaZa Energy Corp. said Tuesday it has hit a snag with its Stingray well in the Eaglebine play that will limit initial production. However, the setback is temporary, and the company intends to continue Eaglebine drilling while it high grades its Eagle Ford acreage.
