Noting that freezing temperatures were being forecasted for the northern half of Florida through at least Monday night and that its total linepack was down, Florida Gas Transmission initiated a new Overage Alert Day notice for market-area customers Sunday with 20% tolerance for negative daily imbalances Sunday. The notice was kept in place Monday with tolerance tightened to 10%.

Devon Corp.’s oil and natural gas production will grow in the “bottom end” of the forecasted 2-4% range this year, CEO J. Larry Nichols said Wednesday. However, the producer will hold significant cash reserves, which Nichols said will likely be used to repurchase stock and “revisit” the dividend.

TXU Expects to Surpass Forecasted 3Q Earnings by 10%

Following through on a promise made last spring to stabilize operations and improve earnings, TXU Corp. CEO Erle Nye on Monday said the company will deliver 10% higher earnings than previously forecast, and expects to report $1 a share for the third quarter, compared with a previous guidance of 90 cents.

Citing forecasted weather and projected demand on its system, Sonat said eight delivery groups would become subject to an OFO Type 3 effective with the start of Saturday’s gas day until further notice. OFO penalties are $15/Dth for any delivery point overtakes exceeding 102% of a shipper’s daily entitlement. The pipeline also began allocating/limiting interruptible capacity in four other groups Saturday.
