FERC has issued a favorable environmental assessment (EA) of Eastern Shore Natural Gas Co.’s (ESNG) proposal to expand its pipeline system to meet the needs of its customers in the growing Delmarva Peninsula market, which includes most of Delaware and portions of Maryland and Virginia.

Citing a “significant decline in usage” at its facility on the Maryland shore, Dominion Cove Point LNG LP (DCP) has called on FERC to clarify that under its tariff it has the authority to require shippers to deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG) by tanker to its import terminal to keep the cryogenic portions of the terminal cooled or face penalties.
