Troubled Commerce Energy Considers More Asset Sales
Running out of time to shore up its finances ahead of a bank facility expiration Dec. 22, Commerce Energy Wednesday announced an agreement to sell off most of its remaining customer base. Commerce has through Nov. 26 to carve out a deal with Universal Energy Group Ltd (UEG), according to Commerce CEO Gregory Craig.
Expansion to Serve Delmarva Peninsula Given Green Light
Eastern Shore Natural Gas (ESNG), a subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities, received FERC approval for a $33.6 million, 36% increase (47,450 Dth/d) in its pipeline capacity in Delaware and Pennsylvania in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The project will add 55 miles of pipeline looping and two new delivery points.
El Paso Sells More Asian Power Assets for $109M
In its continuing effort to pare down debt and shore up its domestic exploration and production program, El Paso Corp. on Monday announced that it has agreed to sell almost all of the rest of its Asian power assets to a subsidiary of Globeleq Ltd. for $109 million.
Dynegy Buys Exelon Assets for $1B
After spending the past two years shedding assets to shore up its balance sheet, Dynegy Inc. on Tuesday announced it is buying Sithe Energies and Sithe Independence LP from Exelon Corp., which includes a 1,042 MW combined-cycle power generation facility near Scriba, NY, four natural gas-fired merchant facilities in New York and four hydroelectric generation facilities in Pennsylvania.
