Spectra Energy Partners LP said Greg Harper has resigned as president, CEO and member of the board of directors of Spectra Energy Partners GP LLC effective Dec. 5. “Greg has decided to pursue another opportunity outside of the company,” said Chairman Fred Fowler. “I am very appreciative of his service to Spectra Energy Partners and wish him all the best in his new endeavor.” A successor for Harper will be named in the near future, the company said.

A New York State judge has ruled that Amaranth Advisors LLC and affiliate Amaranth LLC can pursue their lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. for allegedly derailing the failed hedge fund’s efforts to mitigate losses from natural gas trades in 2006.

Regents of The University of Texas System last Thursday authorized system officials to pursue contracts to sell future oil and natural gas production from 2.1 million acres managed by the system in West Texas. Such deals would give the system access to up-front cash in exchange for future production sold at a fixed price.

Rockies Express Pipeline LLC (REX) has asked FERC to schedule a public technical conference to discuss how the company may pursue an environmental construction requirement for its 639-mile REX-East Pipeline to cross Murray Energy Corp. coal mining reserves, saying it may need an alternative route. It suggested Aug. 5 or 7 for an expedited conference.

Missouri Companies Face Penalties for Price Discrimination

The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) said last Thursday it will pursue penalties against Missouri Pipeline Co. (MPC) and Missouri Gas Co. (MGC) for alleged price discrimination and assisting an affiliated company in gaining a competitive advantage over other energy marketers in violation of PSC regulations and their own tariffs.
