ExxonMobil Corp. has selected mySAP.com as the primary backbonefor the company’s global business infrastructure project, accordingto the German firm, SAP AG, which bills itself as the world’sleading provider of inter-enterprise software solutions. The systemwill be designed to consolidate systems for the recently mergedExxon and Mobil companies, while improving business processes for100,000 employees worldwide. “We have been customers of SAP sincethe late 1980s, and we are excited to continue to build upon ourinvestment in SAP solutions to meet our business objectives ofmaintaining best-in-class business performance for our BusinessLines,” said Jerry Kohlenberger, president of the ExxonMobil GlobalServices Co. “By consolidating and upgrading all systems tomySAP.com, we will tighten synergies around the globe andstreamline business processes.”

TransCanada Accepting STFT Bids

TransCanada has posted short-term firm transportation servicefor November 2000 through March 2001, and is accepting bids through3 p.m. MDT today. Because TransCanada does not yet have NationalEnergy Board-approved tolls beyond the end of 2000, all of the bidsfor capacity may be adjusted for bids that extend beyond Jan. 1.

Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Co. is in the midst ofupgrading firm transportation capacity on its system inanticipation of supplying cheaper Powder River Basin gas toshippers on Northern Border Pipeline, who it believes will bedeprived of economical Canadian gas supplies when Alliance Pipelinegoes into service in October.

Peoples Energy Corp. has invested $5 million in EnerTech CapitalPartners II LP, a private equity firm specializing in investmentopportunities for the deregulated energy, utility andtelecommunications industries. With Peoples’ monetary commitment,EnerTech now has $235 million in committed capital to makeinvestments.

Transportation Notes

Northern Natural Gas has two firm capacity open seasonsupcoming. One, scheduled July 26-27, is for 20,000 MMBtu/d tocertain delivery points in Zone ABC. The space will be awarded infour separate 10,000 MMBtu/d packages: one each for the months ofAugust, September and October 2000 and a fourth for the entirethree-month period. The other open season, set for July 31-Aug. 3,is for 15,000 MMBtu/d to certain delivery points in Zone EF for theOctober 2000 through April 2001 period. This volume is subject tocertain constraints. TransCanada PipeLines has set an open season through tomorrow forone-year firm maximum rate capacity for 750,000 gigajoules a day fromEmpress to several points on its system. Bids will be accepted for FTcontracts to commence anytime between Nov. 1, 2000 and March 30,2001. The FT space is available to the Saskatchewan, Manitoba orEmerson zones, or there is 300,000 gj/d available to the Eastern Zone(SWDA). TransCanada is not considering annual short haultransportation in the current posting, but may do so in a futureposting. Also, if long haul FT offers are made after tomorrow’sdeadline, the pipeline may initiate a new open season. PG&E Forms Venture Capital Firm, Adds Power
