PG&E Gas Transmission Plans to Add 200 MDth/d

PG&E Gas Transmission Northwest (GTN) said it would filewith FERC in April to add 200 MDth/d of firm transportationcapacity to its mainline. A recent open season attracted 25 bids,totaling 2,138 MDth/d of capacity, but GTN said 200 MDth/d was themaximum it could do under the circumstances and under its existing26-cent maximum rate for FT.

Honeoye Storage is holding a open season for firm storage servicefor up to five years at its Ontario County, NY facility. Up to 1,471MDth is available, starting as early as April, with a maximuminjection rate of 20,000 Dth/d and a withdrawal rate of 12,500Dth/d. The open season runs through Feb. 16. The facility connectswith Tennessee Gas and New York State Electric & Gas. Customersmake their own transportation arrangements. Storage service firstbegan at Honeoye, just south of Rochester, NY, in 1975 and five of itsoriginal customers continue to receive 4,293 MDth of service. TheHoneoye facility is owned by affiliates of KeySpan Energy,Consolidated Edison of New York, and its three developers, DaveDonohue, Dick Norman and Jacek Makowski. After the recent successful completion of an open season on anadded 124,5000 Dth/d of firm transportation capacity intoCalifornia along its 922-mile interstate pipeline, Williams’subsidiary Kern River Gas Transmission will announce another openseason this week, perhaps as early as today for additional newcapacity on the pipeline carrying Rocky Mountain supplies fromsouthwest Wyoming, a Salt Lake City-based Kern River spokespersonsaid Tuesday.

Except for declines at several of the highest-priced westernpoints, the cash market stayed in an upbeat mood Friday. Gainsranged from about a dime to more than 30 cents, with most between20 and 30 cents.
