Tennessee said it has noticed during December and January asteady increase in the heating value content of gas on its 500 and800 Lines, which is causing problems for both the pipeline anddownstream customers. Beginning Thursday Tennessee will require allshippers on the 500 and 800 Lines to tender gas that either has atotal heating value no greater than 1,050 Btus or provide proof ofdownstream processing. Nominations will not be accepted for gasfailing to meet either specification, and an OFO Balancing Alertwill be issued to any customer that elects to flow unacceptable gasabove the scheduled quantity of zero. Tennessee anticipates thissituation to continue through the end of January and possiblyFebruary.
