The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has approved an air quality plan for the Atlantic Sunrise natural gas pipeline project, signing off on construction activities for the greenfield expansion, which could begin next week.

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) has allowed Rover Pipeline LLC to resume construction in Doddridge and Tyler counties following a July cease and desist order. WVDEP cited Rover for noncompliance with its state-issued water pollution control permit. In an order filed to the project docket at FERC, WVDEP said it determined following an inspection on Wednesday the previously cited violations “had been corrected” [CP15-93].

The Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board (EHB) has granted Sunoco Pipeline LP’s request to resume horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for the Mariner East (ME) 2 pipeline at select sites across the state to preserve equipment and prevent environmental damage.
