Quicksilver, KKR to Build Horn River Midstream Services

Quicksilver Resources Inc. and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP (KKR) said Tuesday they plan to jointly construct and operate natural gas midstream services to support producers operating in Canada’s Horn River Basin.

Cardinal Gas Storage Partners LLC unit Cadeville Gas Storage LLC has executed a 10-year precedent agreement with Shell Energy North America (US) LP to construct a depleted reservoir gas storage facility in Ouachita Parish, LA, near the Perryville/Delhi Hub in northeast Louisiana. “…[A]bundant supply has triggered renewed interest in natural gas from a variety of industries, including power generation, commercial and manufacturing sectors,” said Shell Energy North America President Frans Everts. “Cadeville’s strategic location will enhance Shell Energy’s ability to provide attractive supply options to customers located east of the Rockies.” The facility is expected to be in service in 2013 and designed to have 17 Bcf of working gas capacity.

Enterprise: Former Partner Wasn’t Spurned

A lawsuit filed by Energy Transfer Partners LP against Enterprise Products Partners LP and Enbridge Inc. over an abandoned proposal to construct an oil pipeline from Cushing, OK, to Houston “is about a company…trying to get in the courthouse what it could not achieve in the marketplace,” Enterprise said in a motion for summary judgment.

DCP Midstream Partners LP will construct a 200 MMcf/d natural gas processing plant in the Eagle Ford. The $120 million Eagle Plant project will be supported by a 15-year fee based agreement to process the company’s natural gas volumes. The facility, which will compliment the company’s five existing processing plants and capacity of 800 MMcf/d in South Texas, is expected to be completed during 4Q2012.

Enbridge Energy Partners LP said it will construct a 150 MMcf/d cryogenic gas processing plant on its Anadarko gas gathering system near Wheeler, TX. The $230 million Ajax plant would serve growing production from the Granite Wash play and is expected to be in service by early 2013. The plant would bring total Anadarko System processing capacity to 1.2 Bcf/d, the partnership said. The Anadarko System consists of about 2,800 miles of gas gathering and transportation pipelines in southwest Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle, one gas treating plant and 12 gas processing plants, including the planned Ajax and previously announced Allison plants.

Alliance Plans Williston Basin Lateral

Alliance Pipeline LP said Hess Corp. has contracted for capacity on a North Dakota pipeline lateral and associated facilities it plans to construct to carry liquids-rich gas from the Williston Basin.
