Oneok Partners LP said it will invest $340-360 million by the first quarter of 2014 to construct a gas gathering and processing plant and related infrastructure in the Cana-Woodford Shale in Oklahoma.

A unit of Willbros Group Inc.’s oil and gas business has been awarded a contract by Energy Transfer Partners LP to construct a portion of the Red River Gathering Pipeline (RRG). Work is to include construction of 97 miles of 30-inch diameter pipeline from Ardmore, OK to Denton, TX. Construction is scheduled to begin in early April. The project is part of an agreement for Energy Transfer to provide gas gathering, processing and transportation services in the Woodford and Barnett shales for XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp. (see Shale Daily, Oct. 24, 2011). “The significant growth in the midstream market is driving additional opportunities for our strategy to offer comprehensive services to project developments in the liquid-rich drilling plays such as the Woodford shale,” said Willbros CEO Randy Harl.

Net Midstream’s Eagle Ford Midstream LP plans to construct a 105-mile, 24- and 30-inch diameter extension of its existing pipeline, supported by a long-term gas transportation agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corp.

Driven by natural gas liquids (NGL) production out of the Rockies and the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas, Enterprise Products Partners LP plans to construct two more NGL fractionators at its Mont Belvieu, TX, facility. These would provide 150,000 b/d of incremental capacity.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved Golden Triangle Storage Inc.’s (GTS) plans to construct and operate two high-deliverability salt dome storage caverns in Jefferson County, TX, and granted the AGL Resources subsidiary’s request to charge market-based rates for the new capacity. GTS plans to build Caverns 3 and 4 and associated facilities, including a 14,205 hp compressor station, a header system consisting of two parallel 24-inch diameter pipelines and six bi-directional metering stations, beginning later this year. The proposed expansion would increase the total capacity of the Golden Triangle storage facility to 49.38 Bcf (32.6 Bcf of working gas and 16.78 Bcf of cushion gas).

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved Kern River Gas Transmission Co.’s application to construct 8.6 miles of eight-inch diameter pipeline lateral and a meter station to provide natural gas service to Molycorp Minerals LLC in San Bernadino County, CA. The Mountain Pass Lateral would deliver the gas necessary for Molycorp to generate electricity for its mining and processing operations. The Molycorp facility currently uses electricity from the local grid. The lateral would have a design capacity of 24,270 Dth/d, according to Kern River, which estimated the cost of the project at $15.7 million.

Quicksilver Resources Inc. and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP (KKR) said Tuesday they plan to jointly construct and operate natural gas midstream services to support producers operating in Canada’s Horn River Basin.
