Enterprise Products Partners LP said Tuesday it is tying in more natural gas production from the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) to be carried on its Independence Trail pipeline.

Although no Northeast locations were able to breach the $10 average level a day earlier, they did so with a vengeance Thursday as further spikes carried them solidly into quadruple-digit territory. As it often is, Transco Zone 6’s New York pool was king of the price hill with the day’s top quote of $15 and top average of $14.31.

There was no general consensus on natural gas prices on Monday as cash averages across the country picked up a few pennies or declined by a few pennies. The indecisiveness also carried over in the futures arena where the June contract declined for the fifth consecutive day, but only by 1.8 cents to $4.017.

Tuesday’s upward momentum carried over to Wednesday as most cash point averages for Thursday delivery climbed. Increases were predominant in every region except the East, which saw a few gains sprinkled in amongst no changes and declines.
