CMS Energy President and COO Victor J. Fryling will leave thecompany effective Dec. 20, the company announced yesterday.

The 53-year-old Fryling, who has been at CMS Energy since 1986,has elected to take early retirement. He is succeeded by twoexecutives: David W. Joos, former president and CEO of the electricdivision for Consumers Energy, has been named executive vicepresident and COO – electric; and William J. Haener, formerpresident and CEO of CMS Gas Transmission, has been appointedexecutive vice president and COO – natural gas.

As part of the changes at CMS Energy, Alan M. Wright, currentlysenior vice president and CFO, has been promoted to executive vicepresident, chief financial and administrative officer. All threeexecutives, who assumed their new positions yesterday, will reportto CMS Energy Chairman and CEO William T. McCormick Jr.

In his new post, Joos oversees domestic electric utilityoperations, independent power, international distribution, andmarketing, services and trading. Haener is responsible for U.S.interstate natural gas and oil pipelines, including CMS Energy’sLNG facility; international pipelines, domestic gas utility and gasfield services (gas gathering and processing).
