Kansas-based Black & Veatch has been awarded an engineering contract with the Ksi Lisims LNG export project proposed for the northern Pacific coast of British Columbia (BC).

Ksi Lisims LNG

The assignment, in cooperation with Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., covers front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the proposal to use a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant to ship up to 12 million metric tons per year, or roughly 1.6 Bcf/d.

The FLNG approach “improves the project economics, minimizes land impacts and reduces construction-related risk,” said the sponsors. The operation would be on Nisga’a territory near Prince Rupert, about 900 miles north of Vancouver.
