Fort Union Gathering Moves Ahead
CMS Gas Transmission and Storage Co. said the Fort Union Gas
Gathering partnership has secured all of the rights-of-way
necessary to construct its planned 106-mile natural gas gathering
system in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. CMS is the managing
member in the partnership, which also includes Enron Capital &
Trade Resources Corp., Western Gas Resources and CIG Resources Co.
The $46 million project remains on schedule for a September 1999
startup, CMS said. Fort Union will gather coal-bed methane from as
far north as 30 miles north of Gillette, WY, south to Glenrock, WY.
It will also receive gas from CMS Gas Transmission and Storage's
planned northern gathering system to be located in the northern
portion of Campbell County and Sheridan County.
In addition to CIG's Powder River lateral and KN Interstate's
system, Fort Union will also interconnect with Wyoming Interstate
Company's (WIC) proposed Medicine Bow lateral at Glenrock for
redelivery to the Cheyenne/Rockport Hub. Pending FERC approval,
Medicine Bow is expected to be in service by January 2000.
