Williams’ Northwest Pipeline Thursday announced that it isplanning an expansion and is holding an open season for firmcapacity on its system between Sumas and Chehalis, WA.

Williams noted that “a prearranged agreement has been executedwith one shipper for expansion service in the Sumas to Chehaliscorridor.” Furthermore, others wanting service requiring addeddelivery facilities downstream of Northwest’s current mainlinefacilities may prompt Williams to consider rolling-in “a portion orall” of the downstream additions “to the extent that shippers’rates are not adversely affected.”

The pipeline also is soliciting capacity relinquishments fromshippers under contracts with existing firm rights only from Sumas.New service with a minimum of 15 years length would be availableJune 1, 2003. The open season runs through Dec. 21.

“Service will be subject to either Northwest’s maximum TF-1rates or an incremental rate designed to recover expansion facilitycosts,” the Williams’ announcement said. “The availability ofcapacity will be subject to Williams acquiring sufficientrelinquished capacity from existing shippers and/or final FERCapproval for a mainline expansion.”

Parties wanting to express interest in either firm service orrelinquishing capacity should contact Hank Henrie (801-584-6625).
