Indicative of the continuing uncertainty about natural gas prices, the state of Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission Monday announced it has scheduled a meeting for June 27 to hear from the state’s four principal natural gas distribution companies about the outlook for winter supplies and prices in the Pacific Northwest.

State regulators said they will hear from four gas utilities that serve nearly one million meters in various parts of the state:

“Current wholesale natural gas prices are at an all-time high that most likely will result in customers seeing a rise in heating bills this winter,” the Washington regulatory commission said. “With natural gas prices soaring and in tight supply, homeowners are sure to feel the sting when those costs get passed along to consumers.”
