Venture Global LNG Inc. has agreed to supply a state-owned German company with the super-chilled fuel for two decades as European offtakers continue to line up deals to replace Russian natural gas imports. 

Venture Global said an affiliate of Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) would purchase 2.25 million metric tons/year (mmty) of liquefied natural gas from its proposed CP2 export project in Louisiana for a 20-year term. 

The CP2 project still needs to be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. However, Venture Global said it expects to start construction on the facility next year and is aiming to begin the first phase of commercial operations in 2026.
