Although it projected linepack rising well above its maximum target levels Saturday and Sunday, Pacific Gas & Electric lifted for Friday a high-inventory OFO that had been in effect for the preceding two days.

Saying available capacity in its Jackson Prairie Storage facility had fallen below 3 Bcf, Northwest announced it would begin disallowing interruptible injections effective Saturday (June 12) until further notice. The action is being taken to preserve the firm rights of SGS-2F rate schedule customers, the pipeline said, adding, “At this time, Northwest is not requiring interruptible customers to withdraw their storage balances. Northwest will continue to monitor the facility for the next several days. However, if the available capacity is still below 3 Bcf as of the end of the gas day for Sunday, June 13, 2004, Northwest will provide notice to its interruptible customers to withdraw their storage capacity within seven days, beginning Tuesday, June 15.” The 3 Bcf threshold is based on firm injection rights of 442,000 dekatherms times the seven-day notice period to withdraw, it said.

El Paso said it would have to shut in Line 1600 on June 12 to allow cleaning of the inlet scrubber at Oracle Station. This would reduce capacity of the South High Pressure system by 570 MMcf/d, but because current scheduled volumes across the South Mainline can be moved through the Low Pressure system, the outage was expected to have no effect on markets.
