Northern Natural Gas declared a System Overrun Limitation notice for all market-area zones (ABC, D and E/F) today.

Indicating that last week’s low linepack problems had eased, NOVA switched its imbalance tolerance range back to the normal +10%/-10% Monday morning.

Citing customer interest in shipping from Joliet, IL to Market Areas 35, 26 and 25 in Pennsylvania, Columbia Gas has revised an open season for its Midwest Project to include delivery points in these areas. The open season is now set to close Friday at 4:30 p.m. EST. The original open season began last October (see Daily GPI, Oct. 10, 2001) and had its deadline extended near the end of the year (see Daily GPI, Dec. 27, 2001). El Paso postponed indefinitely Line 1208 maintenance between the Leupp and Flagstaff stations that had been set for Monday (Jan. 28). However, maintenance on the Window Rock Station’s 5A compressor began Monday as scheduled, cutting North Mainline capacity by 30 MMcf/d through Wednesday.

Union Gas Limited is accepting bids through noon EST Wednesday for up to 2 Bcf of peak storage at its Dawn (ON) Hub. The service permits injections commencing March 1 and winter 2003 withdrawals on an interruptible basis. Dawn is Canada’s largest storage facility. With seven pipeline interconnects (three of which are with TransCanada), Union Gas provides access to 15 pipeline and distribution companies.
