Westcoast declared a force majeure Tuesday at its McMahon Gas Plant after “MEA [monoethanol amine] solution foaming increased dramatically” during Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The foaming reduced McMahon raw gas treatment capacity from 630 MMcf/d to 437 MMcf/d as of Tuesday afternoon. Westcoast said it was acid washing affected MEA contactors, and expected to have full processing capacity restored this morning.

Algonquin reported experiencing an unscheduled horsepower outage at the Cromwell Compressor Station. Effective with today’s gas day until further notice, Algonquin is scheduled to capacity through the station and will accept incremental nominations only for No-Notice Service. In addition, no due-shipper gas is available and no forward-haul Authorized Overrun or IT downstream of and through Cromwell may be scheduled.

Transco announced that Pleasant Valley, its new bi-directional interconnect in Fairfax County, VA, with Cove Point LNG, became ready for service and was available for scheduling Tuesday.

Tennessee, which had expected to complete repairs on an “anomaly” at Station 527 today (see Daily GPI, Jan. 15), said Tuesday it now anticipates completion of the work Friday.
