El Paso said the Pecos River Station’s #2 turbine will remain down longer than planned due to damage discovered during an ongoing overhaul. Capacity through Pecos River will be cut by 60 MMcf/d through Nov. 20.

Florida Gas Transmission will begin upgrading facilities this month to prepare for its Phase V expansion. Beginning around Saturday, a turbine upgrade will be initiated at one throughput station. The work will take seven to 10 days, during which FGT will schedule up to about 1.5 million MMBtu/d into its market area. Starting Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 22), a four-day upgrade of compressor station piping at a throughput station will limit market-area deliveries to about 1.3 million MMBtu/d. An upgrade of compressor station piping at two throughput stations will begin about Nov. 26 and take seven to 10 days. Market-area capacity will rise again to about 1.5 million MMBtu/d during this work. A pipeline spokeswoman said a throughput station is not the same as a compressor station, but rather “a major point that affects the market area.” Call Mike Bryant at (713) 853-4874, Dannis Bellard at -5651 or your FGT customer services representative for more information.

Great Lakes Gas Transmission is offering “hub to hub” transportation service between Chicago and Dawn for the winter season with a single contract. Great Lakes said it will use recent FERC authorization to obtain available off-system capacity and use it with capacity on its own system to create the “seamless service.” Capacity of up to 100,000 Dth/day is available through March 31, 2002. The minimum rate is 13 cents/Dth plus fuel and surcharges. For additional information, call the Great Lakes marketing hotline at (888) 275-3611.
