Citing “excessive banking [of gas] over the last several days,” Kern River said Tuesday it is currently operating with high linepack that would negatively impact maintenance set for April 24-25. “It is imperative that operators take delivery of quantities that are scheduled immediately,” the pipeline said, adding that it will take corrective action if banking continues to be a problem. The maintenance, involving turbine inspections at the Muddy Creek and Fillmore Stations and valve replacement at the Opal Plant, was postponed from an original March schedule (see Daily GPI, March 9).

Trunkline reported Tuesday that Line #319B-3800, part of the Terrebonne System offshore Louisiana, was experiencing an unusual pressure drop. Line cleaning maintenance to correct the problem is under way and expected to be completed Friday, depending upon offshore weather, the pipeline said. Affected offshore producers have been notified they will experience daily pressure fluctuations and may be required to reduce flows.

Noting a previous posting about additional maintenance needed for the deyhdration equipment at its Logansport, LA, facilities (see Daily GPI, April 4), Sonat said it is doing further evaluation to develop a repair plan. It advised shippers and point operators that the plan could require upstream production to be shut in as soon as Saturday. If a shut-in is necessary, its duration will be determined as part of the repair plan, Sonat said. The pipeline will post an update on the situation no later than 10 a.m. CST Thursday.

Maintenance at the Sable Offshore Energy Processing Plant, which will cause a restriction of Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline deliveries, has been delayed for a second time. The work, which originally had been scheduled to start last Monday but was postponed to midnight Wednesday (see Daily GPI, April 12), now has tentative dates of April 21-23. Maritimes & Northeast will post additional information on the outage as soon as it is known.
