CIG said the Strained Operating Condition it had declared for the gas days of Wednesday and Thursday, which was caused by power outages related to blizzard conditions, was lifted Thursday.

ANR said testing of the #2 engine from Grand Chenier (LA) Compressor Station by the manufacturer was terminated due to abnormal operational problems. The engine was removed from its test stand and is back in the shop for investigation. Anticipated availability is unknown, ANR said. As a result, the volumes that can be received through Grand Chenier from HIOS and the West Cameron near-shore blocks will continue to be reduced by about 100 MMcf/d until completion of the engine repairs.

Northwest was able to restore its Northwest Passage nominations system to service about 3:30 a.m. MDT Thursday after a Sybase software problem caused it to crash during the previous afternoon, prompting a force majeure declaration. The event did not affect the pipeline’s physical ability to deliver gas to its customers; however, they were unable to perform electronic transactions during the outage. Northwest outlined a series of recovery procedures for shippers to follow on its bulletin board.
