TransCanada is taking bids through next Monday on Short Term Firm Transportation (STFT) serviceon its Canadian Mainline for the period of November 2000 through March2001. Long-haul capacity is available from Empress to a variety ofdelivery points. In addition, short-haul capacity is available fromSt. Clair and Kirkwall to several delivery points. Shippers may bidfor a single month or any combination of months. TransCanada noted itis not permitted to contract STFT at a price less than the “FloorPrice” (equal to the 100% load factor FT toll for the applicablepath), but it anticipates that FT tolls and STFT Floor Prices willincrease by 20-30% effective Jan. 1, 2001. “This toll increasereflects various cost and revenue changes, most notably FT contractnon-renewals,” the pipeline said. Given the Floor Price uncertainty, successful bids for STFT capacity for January, February and March in2001 may be subject to price adjustment. CallMike Ritsch at (403) 267-8596 for more information.
