Northern Natural Gas issued a System Overrun Limitation noticeaffecting all market area zones for today’s gas day.

El Paso extended through Thursday and until further notice anUnauthorized Overpull Penalty situation it had declared Wednesday.Washington Ranch Storage Field is at maximum withdrawals, El Pasosaid.

Citing weather forecasts and projected system demand, Sonatissued an OFO Type 3 effective Saturday and applicable to theBirmingham Group, South Main Zone 2, Atlanta Group and South MainZone 3. It also will be allocating interruptible starting Saturdayin the Chattanooga Group and North Alabama Group.

Panhandle Eastern reports being notified that National HeliumCorp., a processing plant near Liberal, KS, has reduced operations.This cutback, combined with shutdowns at other plants, isincreasing the volumes of liquefiable hydrocarbons flowing intoPanhandle’s system, the pipeline said. If problems develop,Panhandle will not schedule any receipts exceeding the tarifflimitation of 1,200 Btus per cubic foot. Affiliate Trunklinereported a similar rise in liquefiable hydrocarbons “due to thelack of processing occurring at plants” on its system and issued asimilar warning about receipts exceeding 1,200 Btus.

The Columbia Gulf/Columbia Gas tandem recently placed customerson notice that gas receipts with increased Btu levels are causingoperational problems and could cause harm to downstream recipients.They also warned that shippers tendering high-Btu gas may be heldliable for any resulting damages.

Transco said that during December and so far in January, it hasexperienced an increase in the average heating value content ofsystem gas due to bypassed processing. Beginning Monday and untilfurther notice, the pipeline will require that tendered gas conformto the heating value specification in its tariff, provided that thehydrocarbon content for pentane and heavier components (C5+) doesnot exceed 0.23%, or that it be processed at an operating plantprior to delivery into the mainline.

Citing recent inquiries, FGT is providing a supplemental openseason period to allow additional participation in its Phase VIexpansion project. FT service requests will be accepted throughJan. 31.
