Southern said Friday its market-area forecast called for warmer temperatures Saturday “and then turning dramatically colder for Sunday and even colder into [this] week.” It was extremely likely that storage withdrawal requirements would exceed system capability coming out of the weekend, Southern said, so an OFO Type 6 for short imbalances will take effect Monday until further notice. Tiered penalties will apply to negative daily imbalances exceeding 2% or 200 Dth, whichever is greater. Southern added that it will not be accepting nominations for due-shipper imbalance makeups and will evaluate on each scheduling cycle nominations for interruptible services that rely on storage withdrawals.

Because of cold weather forecasts in its market area, MRT said Friday it would implement a System Protection Warning (SPW) for northbound flows that would take effect the next day until further notice. See the bulletin board for SPW conditions. Saying it currently has capacity available on the East Line, MRT urged shippers relying on Main Line IT and/or AOR volumes to either re-source supply to the East Line or reduce applicable delivery volumes in order to avoid OFOs.

Florida Gas Transmission ended Friday an Overage Alert Day that had been in effect for the previous two days.

Southern California Gas will lose 250 MMcf/d of withdrawal capacity for Monday only during maintenance at its Goleta storage field.

Northwest said it began accepting nomination requests Thursday for interruptible storage at the Jackson Prairie facility under its SGS-2I rate schedule. “If it becomes necessary for Northwest to utilize this storage capacity for firm obligations or system balancing, Northwest will provide shippers with seven-day advance notice to withdraw their interruptible storage gas,” the pipeline said.

TGT reported adding the ETC Tiger-Bosco receipt point to its master location list Friday and has begun taking nominations there. On the preceding Wednesday and Thursday TGT also added FEP-Lula on the mainline and Doyline #1 on the North Louisiana Lateral as new receipt points. Energy Transfer Partners had confirmed that its ETC Tiger Pipeline and Fayetteville Express Pipeline (FEP) began service last Wednesday, well ahead of their previously scheduled start-up dates (see Daily GPI, Nov. 9).
