Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) did not extend a high-linepack OFO beyond Tuesday. An initial assessment of the Aliso Canyon storage facility, which was shut down Monday due to a wildfire threat (see Daily GPI, Oct. 14a), indicates no damage to any major structures, SoCalGas said, adding, “It is not known, at this time, when the facility will be back in service.”

Northern Natural Gas said it completed repairs late Monday night on the Palmyra to Hooper C-Line. The associated force majeure has expired, Northern said, and allocations of the Palmyra North Nomination Group have been lifted. As of Monday the pipeline had expected the Palmyra North constraint to continue through Wednesday due to construction problems and weather delays (see Daily GPI, Oct. 14b).

Questar reported being on schedule to complete reservoir testing at its Clay Basin storage facility and have it ready for service Wednesday. Injection capacity will be 25,000 Dth/d for Park and Loan service and 305,000 Dth/d for Clay Basin FSS and ISS customers, Questar said. There will be 350,000 Dth/d of withdrawal capacity to Questar, but no physical withdrawals to Northwest will be available until installation of the facility’s replacement filter/separator is completed in early November.

In a notice to all shippers and operators behind the Opal Plant, plant operator Williams Field Services (WFS) said the Hams Fork Compressor Station was taken down Monday for emergency maintenance, according to a Kern River bulletin board posting. The WFS operations team estimated that the Hams Fork compressor will be repaired and available for service on Thursday at the earliest. Until then receipt nominations behind the station are being curtailed by 11,000 MMBtu/d. “Delivery nominations will then be cut to align with receipt nominations, and those cuts are expected to remain in place going forward until the unit is back in service,” the WFS notice said.

Northwest began an engine exchange Tuesday at Buhl Compressor Station, noting that the exchange, originally scheduled for September, was postponed to lessen system impacts during Rockies Express maintenance last month. Primary firm nomination requests through Buhl have exceeded the available capacity of 499,000 Dth/d, Northwest said, and thus it implemented a Declared Deficiency Period Tuesday. Based on a design capacity of 585,000 Dth/d, the Daily Deficiency Volume is 86,000 Dth/d, the pipeline said. The Declared Deficiency Period is expected to continue through Wednesday. Northwest also said that due to a problem with the Lava Hot Springs Compressor Station replacement engine, it must postpone the work originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to Nov. 5-6. In an attempt to minimize customer impacts, Northwest has also rescheduled Interstate 84 rerouting work for Nov. 5.
