MRT said a System Protection Warning will take effect today,primarily impacting services north of the Glendale (AR) Station. Italso will limit firm volumes to their primary direction of flow.

An OFO restricting receipts into ANR’s Southeast Leg with Btucontent exceeding 1,050 per cubic foot (see Daily GPI, Dec. 26, 2000) will remain in effect forFebruary. To insure continuity of flow, ANR recommended that allparties with processing arrangements for February notify it of thosearrangements, including shrinkage factors, by Jan. 26.

Panhandle Eastern said it was notified that National HeliumCorp., a processing plant near Liberal, KS, has reduced operations.This cutback, combined with other plant shutdowns, is increasingthe volumes of liquefiable hydrocarbons flowing into Panhandle’ssystem, the pipeline said. If problems develop, Panhandle will notschedule any receipts exceeding the tariff limitation of 1,200 Btusper cubic foot. Affiliate Trunkline reported a similar rise inliquefiable hydrocarbons “due to the lack of processing occurringat plants” on its system and a similar warning about receiptsexceeding 1,200 Btus.

The Columbia Gulf/Columbia Gas tandem also has joined the arrayof pipes weighing in with complaints about receiving gas withincreased Btu levels. The duo recently placed customers on noticethat such gas is causing operational problems on Columbia’s systemand could cause harm to downstream recipients. They also warnedthat shippers tendering high-Btu gas may be held liable for anyresulting damages.
