Tennessee declared a force majeure event Wednesday evening due to the need to repair what a spokesman called an “apparent” leak in a line near the Eugene Island 339C platform. The 339C meter and Eugene Island 315 and 316A platforms were required to shut in until further notice. Further investigation was under way Thursday afternoon, the spokesman said.

Transco anticipated that it would complete on schedule the facility modifications associated with a tap installation for the Cheniere Sabine Pass interconnect on its Southwest Louisiana Lateral in Cameron Parish, and thus was accepting nominations for the affected receipt meters for the start of Friday’s gas day.

Due to an impending cold snap in the Northeast and accompanying high demand, starting Monday affiliates Texas Eastern and Algonquin will require shippers and point operators to keep scheduled and actual volumes matched up. It also will restrict due-pipe imbalance creation and due-shipper make-ups “regardless of the shipper’s cumulative imbalance,” beginning Monday until further notice.

Kern River is extending the deadline for an open season for firm year-round transportation service to Utah, Nevada or California until Feb. 1. The season, which began in late October last year, previously had been scheduled to end Friday, Jan. 11 (see Daily GPI, Oct. 31, 2007). The extension was made to accommodate requests from interested parties for additional time to participate in the open season, Kern River said, adding that it does not affect the Nov. 1, 2010 in-service date for new expansion service.
