Florida Gas Transmission (FGT) ended Saturday an Overage Alert Day that had been in effect for the previous three days. On Sunday the pipeline shifted gears and cautioned market-area customers that with rainy weather forecasted in Florida and FGT’s linepack being “very high,” they should be alert for the possibility of an Underage Alert Day being issued.

Transco said a leak was discovered at its North Padre Island Processing Facility in South Texas, and all production upstream of this facility on the North Padre Island System must be shut in until repairs are complete. Effective Monday until further notice, Transco was not accepting nominations at the NPI Interconnect and Jil Kenedy Ranch #3 receipt points. About 75,000 Dth/d of flowing gas was affected, the pipeline said.

CIG reported Friday afternoon that it had been tendered gas at the Cathedral receipt point on its Uintah Lateral with hydrocarbon dew point levels in excess of tariff limits. The pipeline physically shut in the point until its operator has resolved the gas quality issue. CIG said it expected the condition to last through at least Monday.

El Paso noted that in mid-May, when it posted 350,000 Dth/d of firm South Mainline capacity for bidding, it had said that in the event of no successful bids for the capacity it intended to reserve the space for a proposed South Mainline expansion project. The project is expected to bring supplies from the international border with Mexico for delivery to existing and future markets attached to the El Paso system. The pipeline confirmed that there were no successful bids for the capacity and that it indeed had reserved 350,000 Dth/d of South Mainline capacity from Waha and Keystone to the Ehrenberg delivery point on the Southern California border. The anticipated in-service date of the new facilities is Nov. 1, 2011. A binding open season is planned for the project prior to Jan. 1, 2008. Further, El Paso said it will post a solicitation for turnback capacity to the extent that the project would require construction of new pipeline capacity associated with existing facilities no later than 90 days after the close of the project open season. The reserved capacity is available for transportation service on a limited-term basis up to the in-service date of the project, El Paso said.
