Florida Gas Transmission declared an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers Wednesday that carried a 25% tolerance for negative daily imbalances.

Southern Natural Gas said Tuesday it had experienced an unscheduled engine outage at White Castle Compressor Station on the west leg upstream of Franklinton Compressor Station in South Louisiana. “At this time the return to service is unknown,” the pipeline said, adding that it is in the middle of a scheduled grout project on an additional unit at White Castle and that unit is not scheduled to be available until mid to late September. Until repairs are completed on at least one of the units, interruptible capacity in the South Louisiana Supply area on the west leg upstream of Franklinton Compressor Station will be reduced by an unspecified amount, Southern said. The capacity reduction was reflected in the evening scheduling cycle for Wednesday’s gas day.

Kern River reminded shippers of Painter Compressor Station maintenance scheduled for Sept. 5-8 and noted that with the work starting on the day after Labor Day, it therefore will likely be considered part of Sept. 2-5 holiday weekend supply packages. Customers were asked to schedule their gas accordingly. Kern River said it anticipates that the station’s operational capacity will be approximately 150,000 Dth/d for the Sept. 5 gas day 200,000 Dth/d for the duration of the maintenance. “However, the capacity could be different depending on system conditions and will be adjusted over the four-day period to ensure maximum availability to shippers.”

Northwest reported finding two small leaks while performing a leak detection survey following a July 28 Reno Lateral line failure. While the pipeline develops a work plan to bypass and repair the leaks, the lateral’s current available capacity is 86,000 Dth/d. “Additional flow restrictions may be required during live-line welding and while the temporary bypass line is in place,” Northwest said, but based on current nominations, it does not anticipate any interruption to customer service. Should this outlook change, customers will be notified as soon as possible, Northwest said.
