As a result of a well blowout near the Lowry Plant in South Louisiana (see Daily GPI, Aug. 15), the local electric company has cut power to the area that includes ANR‘s Lake Arthur Compressor Station, the pipeline said. As a result, ANR has reduced Cameron Meadows capacity by 30 MMcf/d (leaving 105 MMcf/d available) through Aug. 18. Based on recent nominations it is anticipated that the reduction may result in the curtailment of IT, Firm Secondary and Firm Catalog Receipt Points (PTS-1 supply) in the affected area.

Both of the Washington Ranch storage facility compressors are down for unscheduled maintenance and are currently unavailable for injection, El Paso said Tuesday. The #2 unit should become available sometime Wednesday, while the #1 compressor is expected to remain unavailable until Aug. 23 due to damaged power heads, the pipeline added. There will be no injection capability until sometime Tuesday, it said, and only one-half capacity (approximately 70 MMcf/d) from then until the middle of next week.

Transco reported that work associated with the lowering of its North High Island Gathering System offshore Texas has been further delayed (see Daily GPI, Aug. 11). Transco now anticipates that the outage will continue through Aug. 21, “weather permitting.” It plans to begin accepting nominations at lateral locations for the Aug. 22 gas day.

Southern Natural Gas will begin an estimated three days of maintenance Wednesday at the Bayou Postillion #2-Anson #2 meter station, during which no nominations will be accepted for the point.
