Northern Natural Gas implemented a System Underrun Limitation notice Monday for all market-area zones (ABC, D and E/F) and kept it in place through at least Tuesday.

Southern California Gas did not extend an Overnominations Day notice beyond Saturday.

The OFO Type 6 that Sonat had scheduled for the start of Saturday’s gas day didn’t last long. Based on a review of system conditions and projected supply/demand for Sunday, Sonat said early Saturday afternoon it was releasing the OFO “effective immediately.” However, the pipeline noted that it continues to refuse nominations for some interruptible services (ISS storage injections and parking) and make-up imbalances owed to Sonat until further notice.

A little less than a week ago Florida Gas Transmission was warning shippers of a potential Underage Alert Day notice (see Daily GPI, Oct. 1) due to excessive linepack. The market pendulum had swung in the other direction Monday as the pipeline alerted market-area customers that it might declare an Overage Alert Day for Tuesday “to ensure that FGT’s linepack does not drop to low levels.”

Gulf South will begin unscheduled maintenance Tuesday on Unit #4 at the Koran Compressor Station. The work is expected to run through Friday and could affect as much as 14 MMcf/d in station throughput.
