Having previously announced System Overrun Limitations (SOL) in all market-area zones for last Thursday and then extending them into Friday, Northern Natural Gas said late Thursday the SOLs would remain in place through Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Northern Natural Gas late Tuesday afternoon said it will implement a System Overrun Limitation Thursday for all market-area zones (ABC, D and EF). Compared to the pipeline’s normal system weighted temperature of 25 degrees at this time of year, it projected that averages would fall from 28 Wednesday to 18 Thursday, 12 Friday and 13 Saturday.

However, at mid-afternoon Tuesday it said a new SOL would be implemented Thursday for Zone EF due to lower-than-normal system-weighted temperatures.

SM Energy Homing In On Eagle Ford Shale

SM Energy Co. said it plans to spend $1.04 billion next year, $830 million of that on drilling, mostly in the Eagle Ford Shale and the Bakken/Three Forks in the Williston Basin. The company’s putting its money in “all the right places,” according to an analyst at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities Inc.

After lifting the rest of an OFO Action Alert for its six furthest upstream zones Tuesday, Tennessee said a new one with systemwide impact would be implemented Sunday. It cited limited operational flexibility, mild weather and upcoming Hebron/Ellisburg storage field tests as reasons for the OFO, which requires affected shippers to not exceed a tolerance of 2% of scheduled quantities or 500 Dth, whichever is greater, for overdeliveries into the system and undertakes from the system.

Transportation Notes

Northern Natural Gas said it is declaring a System Underrun Limitation for all market-area zones effective Saturday due to “significantly greater system-weighted temperatures compared to normal.” The pipeline’s bulletin board said the normal system temperature is 53 degrees at this time of year, but it projected averages of 60, 67, 66 and 63 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
