Eastern shale gas production growth has trumped Wyoming Powder River Basin (PRB) coalbed methane (CBM) as Calgary-based global energy processor Enerflex Ltd. said Thursday it is closing its Casper natural gas compression and processing plant, affecting 89 workers.

Empire State Pipeline’s Empire Connector project is on track to be completed and in service in the fall of 2008 following recent project developments, parent National Fuel Gas Co. said last week. The project is just one piece of the pipeline puzzle coming together to move more gas to the Northeast.
